The Liliput fountain pen is the latest addition to my arsenal of Kaweco writing instruments. Being one of the smallest fountain pens in the world that accepts standard ink cartridges, the Kaweco Liliput has a capped length of 97 millimeters. It fits in the pocket comfortably and transforms into a fully grown pen once the cap is screwed onto the barrel.
The minimalistic and elegant design of the Liliput series dates back to the year 1908 when the pens were made of ebonite. Weighing in at 24 grams, the modern brass model is light enough for everyday carry, yet durable enough to last and last. Barrel, cap and mouthpiece are precision manufactured to close tolerances. In addition to the laser etched Kaweco logo on the top of the cap, there is a small lettering on the side of the cap saying “Kaweco Liliput Germany”.
The ever so slightly concave section fits my grip very well. As with my Kaweco Sport fountain pen, I opted for a medium nib, which provides an enjoyable and smooth writing experience. The only annoying thing about the Liliput design is that the pen easily rolls off the desk. I will probably purchase the separately available clip to serve as a roll stopper.
The Kaweco Liliput comes in the standard Kaweco tin box and includes a blue ink cartridge.
