Ystudio – Brassing Ruler

If you have to sit at a desk or in a cubicle all day, you should at least surround yourself with carefully chosen items you enjoy looking at. Ystudio’s Brassing series features a black and gold color scheme that adds a classy touch to your desktop.

The 15-centimeter ruler is made from solid brass with a coating of matte black paint. It’s the type of paint you find on vintage Leica cameras. Numerals and graduations are sharply delineated. Eventually, the black coating will fade, letting the golden brass show through. But so what? The visible wear and tear is an important part of the aging process and makes the ruler unique and even more attractive. The pens of Ystudio’s Brassing series even come with a piece of sandpaper to remove the black coating.
