Featuring the exact same stylish brass housing as the Legendär Twist Ballpoint Pen, the Legendär Twist Pencil has quickly earned a spot among my favorite mechanical pencils. It is equipped with a Schmidt DSM 2005 lead refill system for 0.7 mm refills. The lead is advanced by twisting the spring-loaded top cap clockwise.
In order to refill the pencil, unscrew the cap to get to the inner lead tube. Remove the black pin at the top of the tube and put it back in after refilling the tube with new lead. The lead width of 0.7 mm is a good size for creating medium, yet precise lines that are perfect for both writing and drawing. The weight of 34 grams is about what you would expect for a brass pencil. It feels substantial in the hand without being heavy or unwieldy.
The Legendär Twist Pencil is a beautiful, no-nonsense mechanical pencil. The brass is not treated, which means it will gradually develop a one-of-a-kind patina with wear.
