The MecArmy X3S Brass is a compact flashlight with a maximum output of 130 lumens from a Cree XP-G2 LED. The light weight of only 26 grams and the small size make it an excellent keychain light. It is powered by a single 10180 lithium ion battery that comes with the flashlight. The other accessories include a USB charging cable, a small split ring, two spare o-rings, and a user manual.
The battery can easily be recharged from any USB power supply. You just need to unscrew the head of the flashlight in order to get to the micro USB charging port. I really like the way the head does not come all the way off when charging the battery. A small status LED indicates the charging status. The quick recharge time of only one hour is another cool feature.
There is no switch but operating the X3S is fairly straightforward. The light is turned on by tightening the flashlight’s head. Likewise, the light is turned off by loosening the head. The X3S features two levels of brightness of 8 lumens and 130 lumens, respectively. Depending on how far you tighten the head, you can change between the modes.
In short, the MecArmy X3S is light enough to carry on your keychain, but tough and durable enough for everyday use.
